Oh, look. Another glorious Art Workshop. Makes us SICK! 🧙
This spooky season, we’re running amok, amok, amok and creating our own version of the most iconic book in Salem. Join Cactus Cancer Society for a Hocus Pocus-inspired workshop where an ordinary journal will undergo a little creative witchcraft and emerge as a delightfully creepy spellbook worthy of the Sanderson sisters.
We’ll add texture, dimension, stitches, an all-seeing eye, and plenty of eerie little details to bring each book to life. Unlike Winifred’s book, yours will be significantly less cursed and much more useful. Fill its pages with journal entries, doodles, lists, poems, secret recipes, questionable spells, or whatever else your creative spirit conjures up in the months ahead.
This art workshop is all about play, imagination, and making something wonderfully weird alongside other young adults who understand the many plot twists of cancer. You don’t need artistic experience, extensive Sanderson-sister knowledge, or a personal relationship with Halloween. Follow the theme, remix it into something completely your own, or adapt the project to match your interests, energy, and access needs. The creative coven welcomes all approaches.
As always, we’ll send registered participants everything needed to create along with us. All you need to bring is your imagination and perhaps a calming circle of salt, just in case.
