Partnering with The Bright Spot Network, we’re excited to bring you a special edition of the Young Adult Cancer (YAC) Hangout: YA Parent Edition. While it will bring together young adult cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers in an informal Zoom hangout, you’re welcome to chat about anything you’d like. Whether it’s chatting about how to talk to your kids, easy recipes that are your go tos, cancer or anything else under the sun, join others who understand what it’s like to go through cancer as a young adult.
Whether you’re talking about cancer or anything else under the sun, join together with other people who understand what it’s like to go through young adult cancer.
What do we mean by YA parent? Young adult cancer patients and survivors, ages 18-45, who are themselves, parents of children. (Is your spouse or partner the survivor, you’re invited too!)
When: Thursday, May 5th, 5-6:30 pm PT / 7-8:30 pm CT / 8-9:30 pm ET
Sign up here and we’ll send you more details!
Interested in coloring during the hangout? Looking for some good coloring pages? I just googled ‘free adult coloring pages’ and found some great printables!
Click here to sign up to be notified when this program is announced by choosing it under ‘Programs you’re interested in.’ (Feel free to choose to be notified when other programs are announced too!)
How does it work? After you fill out the form using the above link, you’re signed up for the YAC Hangouts! These hangouts are informal and unmoderated. There will be a Cactus Cancer Society staff member or volunteer always present as a guide for the hangout, but these video chats are not a support group and will *not* be led or facilitated by a healthcare provider. If you need to talk with someone more qualified to handle any anxiety, side-effects, etc. please contact your physician. Prior to each YAC Hangout, we’ll send you a link to the video chat that you’ll follow to attend. The Hangouts have a “drop-in” policy so no need to alert anyone if you can or cannot make it that week. Most YAC Hangouta are open to any young adult cancer survivor or caregiver who signs up and is available (though this one is specific to parents)!
What will you need? A computer (or a smartphone or tablet), a headset with a microphone, and a webcam.
And, that’s it! If you haven’t already, sign up and attend a YAC Hangout!
