Fall Folk: A Framed Character Workshop 🍂

Something about fall makes a tiny woodland creature in a scarf feel perfectly reasonable. It’s the season of strange little creatures, mischievous forest guardians, and mysterious local legends. Somewhere in the distance, I can practically hear hoa, hoa echoing through the trees. So, we’re leaning into the whimsy, gathering our creative supplies, and making a little fall magic of our own.

In this November Art Workshop, we’ll design and build character portraits filled with color, dimension, texture, and personality. It’s the perfect addition to your art gallery wall, your seasonal decor, or even your bookshelf. We’ll send you everything you need to bring your piece alive!

You might create a woodland animal, a reindeer, a monster, a family pet, or something completely original; the choice is yours! We’ll give recycled egg cartons a creative second life by transforming their shapes into character details. Then, we’ll arrange everything inside a created frame to build a piece that feels part portrait, part sculpture, and part character-design experiment.

As always in Cactus Cancer Society creative spaces, the process matters more than the finished product. This is a chance to experiment with materials, follow an idea wherever it goes, tune into your creative voice, and make something in a safe space with people who understand young adult cancer.
