Guys Discussion Group Nov 2021

Led by LCSW Dennis Heffern, each month we’ll hear from a different community member on a certain topic with a chance for open discussion at the end.  In this guys-only program, we’ll shoot the breeze with men of all young adult cancer experiences.  Nothing is off the table.  You won’t want to miss it!

This month we’ll hear from Shane Kearney!

Shane was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in December 2020 and is surviving cancer as best he can, which ranges from going on 16 mile hikes in the mountains to stress-eating fast food. Born in Ireland, he has lived in Georgia, Indiana, and Ohio. He was diagnosed at the beginning of his grad studies, but is over halfway through his Cybersecurity Risk Management program. Shane likes hiking, mountain biking, music (punk, indie), pretending to learn piano, comedy podcasts, comics, and Flannery O’Connor.

Fun Fact about Shane: He has no idea what he wants to be when he grows up.
