Question: How do you talk to your partner about your fears of having a child as a survivor? Extra info: I am a female osteosarcoma survivor and fear that I can pass on cancer through my genes if I choose to have a baby. Age range: 26-33 years old
Awkward Auntie: Many survivors struggle with this fear. Not all cancers are genetic, so it is really important to speak to your cancer treatment team to find out if passing on your cancer to any offspring is a risk.

Dr. Anne Katz, also known as the Awkward Auntie, is a certified sexuality counselor and nurse who has written a couple of books about young adults and cancer – and all the things that happen to your body, relationships, and sex during and after treatment.
