Cancer Secrets: Eventually

Part of our ongoing Cancer Secrets series, where our community shares the truths that often go unsaid.

Front Text:
Collage of clocks, vintage cars, and phrases like “Keep going” and “He just couldn’t get the hang of it.”

Secret:
“I make excuses for myself and leave things incomplete because I’m afraid of failure. And maybe even just as scared of success.”

Not every secret is about cancer itself. Some are about what comes after. The pressure to rebuild or to “do something meaningful” can be heavy. This secret speaks to that quiet fear of trying, of failing, of being seen. Healing takes time. You’re allowed to move slowly. You’re allowed to still be figuring it out.
