Does family support foster mental and physical health?

At Cactus Cancer Society, we’re passionate about uplifting the voices and lived experiences of young adults impacted by cancer and making sure this community is meaningfully represented in research. We’re excited to share a research opportunity focused on how family support and relationships are linked to mental and physical well-being. By sharing your perspective, you can directly influence resources and support for other young adults navigating life after cancer.

The FAMILY Study: Fostering AYA Mental and Physical Health through Family

Your experience matters, and your family’s support may play a key role in how you feel after treatment.  Researchers at the University of Tennessee are conducting the Fostering AYA Mental and Physical Health through Family (FAMILY) study.  The purpose of this study is to better understand how family support and relationships (for example, with parents or caregivers) are linked to mental and physical well-being among AYA cancer survivors.  By learning from you, they hope to develop future family-centered support programs that strengthen family support and improve quality of life for adolescent and young adult cancer survivors and their families.
