Cancer has a way of dividing life into chapters you never expected to write. Before diagnosis. During treatment. After treatment. Waiting. Healing. Starting over. Becoming someone new. And sometimes, trying to figure out what chapter you are even in.
But no single chapter gets to tell the whole story.
In this September edition of The Inner Canvas, Chapter by Chapter, we’ll explore the stories we tell about where we’ve been, where we are now, and what might still be unwritten. Through guided journaling, participants will reflect on the different chapters that have shaped their lives, the chapter they find themselves in today, and the pages they are still becoming.
Participants will move through guided grounding and visualization, journaling practices, therapeutic art prompts, and other unique creative coping practices, with optional sharing woven throughout. It’s all designed so you can engage at your own pace and in the way that feels right that day. Grab whatever supplies you love or whatever is in reach, follow the guided prompts, and let your creativity do the talking. There is no right way to show up. There is only your way.
No art experience is required. Truly. This isn’t about creating the perfect story or making something beautiful enough to hang on the wall. It’s about making room for the complexity of your story while remembering that there are still pages ahead that haven’t been written yet.
