The Inner Canvas: Permission to Play 🫧

When was the last time you made something just because it was fun?

Not because you were good at it. Not because it was productive, meaningful, therapeutic, or worthy of showing anyone else. Just because you wanted to see what happened.

This June, The Inner Canvas: Permission to Play is making room for creativity without an agenda. We’ll explore our relationship with play, curiosity, silliness, experimentation, and what happens when we give ourselves permission to make something without worrying about how it turns out.

Through guided grounding and visualization, journaling, and therapeutic art response activities, we’ll experiment with playful, low-stakes ways of creating. Think scribbles that turn into something unexpected, drawing with your nondominant hand, strange little doodles, creative challenges, happy accidents, and plenty of opportunities to follow your curiosity wherever it goes.

Led by Lauren Morales, LCSW, this 90-minute creative drop-in gives you room to experiment, laugh, make a mess, and optionally share with other young adults who get it. There is no required finished product and absolutely no art experience required. Grab whatever supplies you have nearby, leave your inner art critic at the door, and come play with us.
