(When your thoughts are messy but your doodles don’t have to be.)
This workshop is basically a permission slip to doodle, zone out a little, and let your hands take the wheel. Neurographic art starts with simple scribbly lines and turns them into a surprisingly cool abstract piece by rounding corners, filling shapes, and playing with color. It’s oddly satisfying, low-key mesmerizing, and one of those “wait… why does this feel so calming?” activities.
At the end of the workshop, participants will submit their finished piece to be featured and offered for sale at Cactus Cancer Society’s 11-Year Birthday Virtual Auction! Your one of a kind piece of art will be featured as a part of a curated community gallery celebrating creativity, resilience, and connection within the young adult cancer community! All proceeds from art sales will support future CCS programs and mission: Providing a safe space for young adults with cancer where they can connect, cope, and thrive with one another in an online community through creativity and expression. Your submission will help us continue to expand our reach, offer more virtual programs, and help other YA survivors, patients, caregivers, and co-survivors feel less alone.Â
Even better? We send you everything you need! No supply shopping, no panic Googling, no last-minute Target run. Just you, your art kit, and a couple hours of creative play all done with your Cactus crew.. All participants will receive supplies (including postage to mail your piece back to us for the auction) in advance, along with our Prickly & Proud: Artist Info Card, where you can share a bit about yourself, your piece, and how CCS has impacted you.
You’ll leave with a piece that will create real world impact and a new go-to activity for when your brain is buzzing, spiraling, or just needs something to do besides refresh the same app for the 400th time ✨đź§
If your brain has been doing a lot lately (rude), come draw some lines with us!
