October Art Workshop:
🕯️👻 Ghostie Besties 👻🕯️
Tuesday, October 14
4–6 pm PT / 6–8 pm CT / 7–9 pm ET
Grab your spot in the boo crew: this month, we’re crafting ghostie besties! 🎃 With clay, twine, paint, and a few surprise touches, you’ll bring your very own spirit squad to life and give them a cozy home inside a tiny cloche. Think of it as a haunted housewarming party, but cuter. ✨
Your ghosties can be spooky, silly, or sweet; it’s totally up to you. The best part? You’ll be creating alongside the Cactus Cancer Society community, where connection and conversation flow just as easily as the glue. 💚 No art skills needed, just come in costume, bring your imagination, your fall vibes, and maybe a cozy warm bevvie to keep the spirits high. 🍂☕️🕷️
Costumes are welcomed and encouraged – but not required to join in on the fun!
Let’s make this October a little more magical, one ghostie bestie at a time! 🌵👻 Can’t wait to see you there!
I Love Halloween, But What Should I Wear?
Cancer doesn’t have to crash the Halloween vibes. Whether you’re bald from treatment, tired and in need of an easy option, or just looking for a new, easy costume, we’ve got ideas for you!
Costume Ideas: Use the Bald!
- Mr. Clean: Grab a plain white tshirt, white pants, one earring (clip-ons welcome), and cross those arms! If you have the energy, draw on some white eyebrows with face paint.
- Eleven from Stranger Things: Zip into a classic pink dress and top it off with a denim jacket. Don’t forget the Eggos!
- Pitbull (the rapper, not the dog): Thrift, borrow, or simply wear your own suit with a white dress shirt underneath. For authenticity, wear it unbuttoned a little bit too far (if you are comfortable). Don’t forget his trademark sunglasses!
- Gru from Despicable Me: Wear a striped gray and black scarf, a black zip-up hoodie and black pants. Practice your best miserable and conniving look!
- Another option in the same movie universe for yourself or a friend: a minion! Wear denim overalls, a yellow shirt, black gloves, and goggles if you’re able.
- Charlie Brown: Borrow or thrift a yellow polo and tape on a black zig zag and scribble a curly-que on your head with eyeliner. Finish the look with yellow socks and brown leather shoes.
Low-Effort Halloween Costumes
- Skeleton: Stay comfortable with classic skeleton pajamas.
- Jack O’Lantern: Grab an orange tshirt and tape on paper eyes and a mouth.
- Deviled egg: Make or buy a devil horn headband, wear a white shirt and tape a yellow circle on it. Done!
- Pig in a blanket: Make or buy a headband with pig ears on top. Finish the look by wearing it with your pajamas and a blanket.
- A Beanie Baby: All you need are bear ears with a DIY “ty” tag. You can wear tie dye to be Peace or the Jerry Garcia one!
