UPLIFT Cancer Caregivers Study

Study Description

This survey study focuses on the psychological and financial well-being of LGBTQ+ cancer caregivers.

Am I Eligible to Participate?

You are eligible to participate if you:

  • Are an adult, 18 years or older
  • Current or recent primary caregiver of someone with cancer
  • Identify as LGBTQIA+

What Will I Be Asked to Do?

Complete a 15-30 minute survey on your experiences.

Will I Be Compensated?

Participants will receive $10 for survey completion, four randomly selected participants will receive $100.

Memorable Messages of Adult Survivors of Childhood Cancer

Study Description

The purpose of the study is to identify memorable messages recalled by adult survivors from their childhood cancer experience with a goal of addressing the impacts of messages that are shared with childhood cancer patients both in the moment and into adulthood. 

Am I Eligible to Participate?

You are eligible to participate if you:

  • Are at least 20 years old
  • Had cancer between the ages of 7 and 18
  • Are currently in remission

What Will I Be Asked to Do?

You’ll be asked to take a screening survey and take part in a 30-45 minute interview.

Will I Be Compensated?

Participants will receive a $20 e-gift card as compensation.

Momentary Well-Being of Caregivers of Young Adult Cancer Patients

Study Description

The purpose of the study is to culturally adapt an evidence-based psychotherapeutic intervention for Mandarin-speaking and Vietnamese speaking Americans with metastatic cancer.

Am I Eligible to Participate?

You are eligible to participate if you:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Are living with solid tumor metastatic cancer (cancer that spread from where it first started to a distant part of the body, often Stage 4)
  • Are of Chinese or Vietnamese heritage
  • Prefer speaking in Mandarin or Vietnamese

What Will I Be Asked to Do?

You’ll be asked to do a 10-15 minute demographic phone call, a 1 hour Zoom/phone interview, and a 30-45 minute follow-up Zoom/phone interview.

Will I Be Compensated?

Participants will receive $80 in e-gift cards.

Cancer-Related Cognitive Impairment: Real-Time Evaluation and Assessment of Long-Term Impact of Treatment on Young Adult Survivors

Study Description

The purpose of the study is to learn more about the thinking and memory abilities of young adults with and without a history of cancer through surveys and brain games. 

Am I Eligible to Participate?

You are eligible to participate if you:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 30
  • Were diagnosed with non-CNS cancer between the ages of 13 and 30
  • Have no history of psychiatric or neurological disorders or recent brain injury or stroke

What Will I Be Asked to Do?

You’ll be asked to complete two surveys and a cognitive assessment, use a brain game app on a Fitbit up to 5 times a day for 10 days, and participate in a follow-up interview.

Will I Be Compensated?

Participants will receive up to $100 in compensation for completion of the entire study.
